Talkback Immediately following the movie

Spike Lee's 1988 film School Daze is a critical examination of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The film is set at the fictional Mission College, a historically Black school, and explores issues such as colorism, hair bias, and the importance of HBCUs. This session will use the basis of the movie to drive the discussion for families and scholars to have a courageous conversation with panelists to gain a renewed and intimate understanding of HBCUs...

This experience seeks to equip participants with the necessary skills and resources to foster an understanding of their emotions, create meaningful connections, and show empathy towards others.

This session will also support parents with the targeted resources and information necessary to guide college-bound students through the college and career decision-making processes.
